Dr. Richard Kamrath served as the Medical Director of the Bone Health Clinic at John Muir Health and later in the same capacity with Golden State Orthopedics & Spine.  At GSOS he and Co-Director Dr. George Tischenko treated patients who had previous fractures or were at high risk for developing future fractures. Dr. Kamrath has since transitioned from full time clinical practice to run East Bay DEXA, a small family imaging business in the Bone Health, Body Composition and Clinical Research arenas with his daughter, Kristen.

Earlier training includes: Chief Resident in Endocrinology at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center; and Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology. He continues to maintain ISCD certification as a Certified Clinical Densitometrist. With his background in both the clinical treatment of osteoporosis and CCD certification he is uniquely qualified to provide high quality DEXA Bone Mineral Density Imaging and reporting.

Certified Bone Densitometry Technologist

Kristen graduated from St. Mary’s College and then attended Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts for their Bone Densitometry Technician Program. She began working in DEXA at Muir Orthopaedic Specialists (now Golden State Orthopedics & Spine) in 2021. She is an ISCD Certified Bone Densitometry Technologist. She passed the California boards and received her X-ray Technician Bone Densitometry Permit (Certificate Type and Number: RHP 100646).
